Electrician Prices
in Vancouver, WA
Every electrician in Clark County advertises upfront pricing and no hidden fees. We went and read their websites. On the ones we checked, not one of them lists a price for a single job. You get "call for a free estimate."
So here is what Newman Electric charges for our most common work. Ryan set these numbers himself, and they are the numbers we quote when you call.
What We Charge
Our Prices, in Public
These are the jobs we do often enough to price from a description. Newman Electric holds these rates across Vancouver, WA and the rest of Clark County, and out into Cowlitz County.
Service call and troubleshooting
Covers the first hour on site plus diagnosis. Materials and any permit are billed separately.
Outlet or switch replacement
Flat rate covering up to three standard outlets or switches on the same visit.
EV charger, hardwired
Hardwired unit mounted next to the electrical panel. Longer runs, a full panel or a detached garage change the number.
Ceiling fan install or replacement
A straight swap into a fan-rated box sits at the low end. A new fan-rated box, a vaulted ceiling or a location with no existing box moves it up.
Bath exhaust fan swap
Labour to swap a bath fan, with the fan itself billed at cost. Reuses the existing ductwork. Does not include new duct runs or resizing what is there.
Hot tub or spa circuit
Single story home, circuit up to 50 amps, 50-amp GFCI disconnect included.
Seniors and veterans save 10%
Newman Electric takes 10 percent off for seniors and for veterans. Tell us when you book and it comes off the invoice.
About permits
Where the local jurisdiction requires an electrical permit, that cost is charged as a separate line item on top of the price above. We tell you before the work starts. Clark County permits outside the City of Vancouver go through Washington L&I, the city handles permits inside its own limits, and Cowlitz County goes through the L&I office in Kelso.
The Honest Part
Some Jobs We Will Not Pretend to Price
Publishing a number we cannot hold is the same trick as publishing no number at all. For this work we come out, look at it, and give you a written price for free.
Panel upgrades and service changes
The number moves with the service size, the meter location and what the utility needs.
Generator installation
Sizing, transfer switch and fuel all get decided on site.
Recessed and can lighting
Layout, ceiling type and fixture count vary too much to publish one number honestly.
Whole house rewires and remodels
Scope is set by what is behind the walls.
Commercial and tenant improvement work
Priced against the drawings and the build schedule.
Our Guarantee
Show us the estimate
and we will beat the price.
Get a written bid from another electrician, bring it to us, and Newman Electric will beat it. That is the whole offer. Four things make it work:
- The estimate is in writing, from a licensed, bonded and insured Washington contractor
- It covers the same scope, the same materials and the same permit
- You show it to us before we start work
- Emergency and after-hours calls are excluded
Comparing like for like is the only part that matters. A cheaper bid that skips the permit, uses a smaller conductor or leaves the grounding alone is not the same job, and we will show you where the two estimates differ before you decide anything.
Real Reviews
What customers say about the price they paid
Newman Electric came out and took a look at our issues that arose during a home inspection. After getting eyes on the issues, they scheduled a date to make repairs. Everything was done in a timely manner, and the guys that showed up were both pleasant and professional. They took the time to listen to our concerns, and gave feedback regarding what current code requirements we needed to adhere to. If i need electrical work in the future... they will be my first call.
Ok public service announcement here. If you are looking for workers who come on time, do great work, clean up after themselves and are respectful to the customer, look no further. Newman Electric checks ALL the boxes. After so many experiences in trades of all kind where the workers check few to none of the boxes, this was so refreshing. I felt GOOD about the transaction. I didn’t feel ripped off or that I paid for shoddy work. Quite the contrary. It was inspiring. Thank you James, Ryan, Garrett, Justin and of course Ashley. You can feel her smile through the phone. Well done all!
Newman Electric is very reasonable, fast and clean :}
Common Questions
Pricing FAQs
Because every job has variables and publishing a number means committing to it. We would rather commit. The prices on this page are real and they are what we quote when you call. When a job genuinely cannot be priced from a description, we say so and come look for free.
The $225 covers the first hour on site, which includes diagnosing the problem and doing the work if it fits in that hour. It is not a separate trip charge added on top of a repair. Materials and any required permit are billed separately.
No. Where the local jurisdiction requires an electrical permit, that cost is charged as a separate line item and we tell you before we start. Clark County permits outside the City of Vancouver go through Washington L&I, the city handles its own, and Cowlitz County goes through the L&I office in Kelso.
The $750 base price is a hardwired charger mounted next to the panel with a short run. If the charger goes on the far garage wall, the panel is full, or the run crosses an attic or a driveway, the price goes up. Newman Electric will tell you which of those applies before you commit.
Show us a written estimate from a licensed, bonded and insured Washington contractor covering the same scope, the same materials and the same permit, before we start work, and we will beat it. Emergency and after-hours calls are the exception.
Yes. Newman Electric takes 10 percent off for seniors and for veterans. Tell us when you book and we apply it to the invoice.
Yes. Anything on the estimate list is a free visit with no obligation. Newman Electric covers Vancouver, WA, all of Clark County and into Cowlitz County.
What We Do
The Work Behind the Prices
Service Area
Same Prices Across Clark
& Cowlitz County
The prices on this page hold in Vancouver, WA and everywhere else Newman Electric works, across Clark County and Cowlitz County alike. A ceiling fan in Camas costs what a ceiling fan in Longview costs. We do not price by neighborhood.
That runs from Vancouver and Camas up through Battle Ground and Ridgefield, and north to Longview, Kelso, Woodland and Kalama. Jobs far enough out to carry a trip charge get told about it before anything is booked.
