A month after rough-in, we came back to trim out the new bedroom and bathroom addition on a Vancouver home. Lights, outlets, switches and fans went in, the panel was updated, and the job was set for final inspection the next day.

- Trimmed out the lights, outlets and switches in the new bedroom and bath
- Put metal outlet covers on where the homeowner supplied them
- Updated the electrical panel and tied in the new circuits
- Set the job for final inspection
A month ago we wired the rough-in for a new bedroom and bathroom addition on this Vancouver home. Once the drywall, paint and tile were done, Ryan and two of the crew came back to trim it out, update the panel, and get it ready for final inspection the next day.
Trim-out
Trim is where the wires hanging out of the walls turn into working lights, switches and outlets. In the bedroom that meant the recessed lights, outlets and switches. In the bathroom it was the recessed light, the exhaust fan and the outlets. The homeowner supplied metal outlet covers, and we put those on.
Updating the panel
Adding a bedroom, a bathroom and new circuits to an older house usually means the panel needs work too. We updated the panel as part of this job and tied the addition’s new circuits into it.
A long day
This was about ten and a half hours on site for a crew of three, with the final inspection scheduled for the next day.
