EV Charger Circuit, Mini Split Circuit and a Stack Switch in Woodland, WA

A day of work in a Woodland home. We ran a 50-amp circuit outside for a hardwired EV charger, added a 240-volt circuit for a Daikin mini split, put in a stack switch for the hall light and attic fan, and disconnected the old heaters.

Scope of Work

  • Ran a 50-amp circuit to the southwest corner for a hardwired EV charger
  • Added a 240-volt, 15-amp circuit for the Daikin mini split
  • Put in a stack switch so the hall light and attic fan work separately
  • Disconnected the old heaters at the panel

This Woodland job had a long list, and Ryan’s crew worked through it in one day. We ran a 50-amp circuit outside for an EV charger, added a 240-volt circuit for a Daikin mini split, split the hall light and attic fan onto a stack switch, and disconnected the old heaters.

The EV charger circuit

The homeowner wants a hardwired EV charger on the southwest corner of the house. We ran the 50-amp circuit from the Homeline panel to that corner and ended it in a two-gang box with a weatherproof cover. The charger goes on when we come back, and the circuit is ready for it.

The mini split

This mini split runs on 240 volts and needs its own circuit. We added a 15-amp, 240-volt circuit for the Daikin outdoor unit. Our post on what a mini split needs electrically goes through breaker sizes and disconnects.

We also disconnected the old electric heaters at the breakers.

The hall light and attic fan

The hall light and the attic fan were on the same switch, so one couldn’t run without the other. We pulled a new 14/3 switch leg and put in a stack switch, two switches in one spot, so each one works by itself.

The bathroom switch

The vanity light switch in the bathroom had loose connections, and we tightened them up. Burned devices like the one in the photos are what loose connections turn into over time.

Garrett and Anthony came out and added some plugs and moved a couple for our remodel, they were on time, went above and beyond with helping move furniture, cleaned up their mess and were very professional, I will use Newman from here on out for all our future electrical needs and recommend them to anyone else needing electrical work!!
