Scope of Work
- Moved the wiring out of the kitchen wall that was being taken out
- Cut in new 6-inch cans and tied them in with the existing cans
- Converted 9 existing cans
- Added 8 outlets and left 4 stubs for under-cabinet lights
- Extended the kitchen, range hood, microwave and dishwasher circuits
This Camas kitchen was getting opened up, and the wall coming out had wiring in it. Ryan and the crew spent the day on the rough-in for the new layout, working for the general contractor running the remodel.
Lighting
We cut in new 6-inch cans. The plan started at 10, and we took 2 back out of the living room, so 8 went in. The new kitchen cans tie in with the cans that were already there. We also converted 9 existing cans.
Then we pulled switch legs for the living room, the light over the sink, the under-cabinet lights, the island pendants and the disposal. The kitchen cans are set up for a wireless 3-way switch, so they can be turned on from a second spot without running a new wire through a finished wall.
Outlets and circuits
- 8 new outlets, including one in the island for the microwave, one on the side of the pantry cabinet for a coffee bar, and one in the shelving under the stairs for a possible second microwave.
- 4 stubs for under-cabinet lighting.
- The old disposal circuit now feeds kitchen outlets, and we extended the kitchen circuit about 15 feet.
- We extended circuits for the range hood and the dishwasher, and split the microwave circuit to two locations.
Trim-out comes after drywall and cabinets. Our kitchen remodel electrical page covers what that looks like, and contractors can see how we schedule around your crews.

What customers say about our kitchen work
they fixed my kitchen lights - now I need sunglasses - LOL Also installed a great ceiling fan in my family room. Quick, knowledgeable and a painless process
We recently purchased a different house that had an electric range and we wanted a gas range. We went to go about replacing it. Ordered the new range, got a gas line installed. At the last minute we realized we would need a new plug in to supported a 120 connection. I called the people doing the gas line to get a recommendation for an electrician, they suggested Newman Electric. And boy, am I ever glad they did! I called the number they gave me and was connected to Ryan. He was one of the most responsive, nice people I have ever communicated with. He sent people out the next day. They did a great job! They created the new connection and we are now ready for our new range that's being delivered in 2 days. Awesome customer service! Highly recommend this company. I know they will be our go to for any further electrical issues. Thank you Ryan!
