Scope of Work
- Moved outlets and switches to match the new cabinet layout
- Hung two pendants over the island and wired the new switch
- Put in under-cabinet lighting and its transformer
- Wired the range hood and set power for the microwave
- Trimmed out vanity lights and two fan and light combos in the primary bath
This Camas kitchen got new cabinets, a new island and a new layout, working with a general contractor. Once the counters and backsplash were in, Ryan and the crew came back to trim it all out the day before the final inspection.
The kitchen
New cabinets meant the outlets and switches had to move to match. We set the countertop outlets in their new spots, wired the range hood, and set power for the microwave.
The island is 84 inches wide and got two 18-inch pendants. We hung each one 12 inches in from the end, which leaves 24 inches between them and keeps them centered on the island. Then we put in the under-cabinet lighting and its transformer along every run of upper cabinets.
The bathrooms
In the primary bath we put in new vanity lights and two fan and light combos, and set the switches. The downstairs bath got its new light fixture, and the light in the kids’ bathroom moved up 6 inches.
A few items waited for a second visit a few days later, including the dishwasher hookup and the canless light under the stairs. More on this kind of work is on our kitchen remodel wiring and bathroom electrical pages. If you’re a builder, here’s how we work with general contractors.
