Hardwired Tesla Wall Connector by the Garage Door in Vancouver, WA

Scope of Work
- Added a new breaker for the charger in the Eaton panel
- Ran the circuit in metal conduit up and across the garage wall
- Mounted and hardwired the Tesla Wall Connector by the garage door
This Vancouver homeowner wanted their Tesla charger right by the garage door, across the garage from the panel. We added a breaker in the Eaton panel, ran the circuit in metal conduit across the wall, and hardwired a Tesla Wall Connector where the car parks.
Why hardwire it
A Wall Connector can be plugged into a 240-volt outlet, but hardwiring it is the better setup. There’s no plug to wear out or heat up, and the charger can run at a higher amperage than most outlets allow. Our home EV charger installation in Vancouver page covers both setups.
Running it in conduit
The panel is on one wall and the charger is on the other side of the garage. Instead of running cable loose on the wall, we ran it in EMT conduit up from the panel, across under the ceiling and down to the charger. It’s protected from bumps and it looks neat on a finished garage wall.
Putting the charger by the door
Mounting the charger next to the door means the cable reaches the charge port without being stretched across the floor. If you’re picking a spot, park the car where you normally do and check which side the charge port is on before you decide. Our post on choosing a home EV charger covers the rest.

Garret and Roman are just the very Best. They were so easy to work with and did a phenomenal job installing an outdoor EV Charging outlet at our home that doesn’t look like an afterthought. Would highly recommend this company for any of your electrical needs. Garret was great at responding to any questions. So pleased with this company.
Newman installed a Tesla Wall Charger at my home. They were quick, professional, and trustworthy. I ran into an issue a few days after the work was done and they came back right away and made it right.

50-Amp EV Charging Outlet Beside the Panel in Ridgefield, WA
This Ridgefield homeowner already had a portable Level 2 charger and just needed a place to plug it in. We added a dedicated 50-amp, 240-volt circuit and an EV charging outlet right next to the garage panel in a short run of EMT.

The panel was on one side of this Vancouver garage and the car parks on the other. We ran the circuit in EMT across the ceiling, past the garage door opener, and hardwired an EVIQO Level 2 charger on the far wall.
