Vancouver

County seat

Our home base. Historic homes downtown, new builds in east Vancouver, and the commercial corridor along Mill Plain and Fourth Plain.

Camas

East county

Mix of historic downtown craftsman homes and new construction in the North Shore and Prune Hill neighborhoods. Growing fast.

Washougal

East county

Gorge-adjacent with older homes near downtown and newer development in the hills. Outdoor living is big here.

Battle Ground

North county

One of the fastest-growing cities in Clark County. Lots of new construction and families adding EV chargers, generators, and smart home systems.

Ridgefield

Northwest county

Doubled in size over the last decade. New subdivisions mean modern panels but homeowners want additions. EV chargers and outdoor lighting lead the list.

La Center

North county

Small town with rural properties on larger lots. Shops, outbuildings, and generator installs are the most common requests.

Hazel Dell

Unincorporated

Unincorporated community just north of Vancouver. Older homes from the 1950s-1970s that need panel upgrades and rewiring. Highway 99 commercial corridor.

Salmon Creek

Unincorporated

Suburban community near WSU Vancouver. Homes from the 1980s-2000s that need dedicated circuits, EV chargers, and panel capacity for modern loads.

Felida

NW Vancouver

Newer homes on larger lots between Vancouver Lake and Salmon Creek. 200-amp panels standard. EV chargers, hot tubs, outdoor lighting, and new construction service entrances.

Minnehaha

North Vancouver

1960s-1980s ranch and split-level homes between Hazel Dell and Orchards. Panel upgrades, Federal Pacific and Zinsco replacements, and EV chargers that often come with a panel upgrade first.

Orchards

East Vancouver

Large unincorporated area east of I-205 with 1970s ranches through 2020s new builds. Kitchen and bath remodels, range circuit relocations, and a wide mix of electrical scopes.

Hockinson

NE Clark County

Rural acreage country east of Battle Ground. Horse barns, shops, hay storage, original farmhouse panel upgrades, and generators for long winter outages.

Amboy

Far north Clark County

Deep-rural Lewis River country. Standby generators, well pump circuits, outbuilding sub panels, and panel upgrades on original farmhouses.

Yacolt

Cascade foothills

Small incorporated town near the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Generators, cabin and ADU wiring, older town-home panel upgrades.

Five Corners

Highway 99 corridor

Mixed residential and small-business area along Highway 99. Home panel upgrades, tenant improvements for retail and restaurants, fast-response emergency work.

Panel Upgrades

Electrical Panel Upgrade in Clark County, WA

60+ panel upgrade jobs completed in Clark County

Panel work across Clark County splits by age and by geography. Pre-war Vancouver neighborhoods have fuse boxes and 60-amp services. The 1960s to 80s ranches in Hazel Dell, Minnehaha and Orchards turn up Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels. Rural Battle Ground, Brush Prairie and Hockinson have 100-amp farmhouse services now feeding shops and barns.

One permitting detail trips people up: inside Vancouver city limits the City of Vancouver issues electrical permits, and everywhere else in the county, including unincorporated areas with a Vancouver address, it's L&I. For local detail see panel upgrades in Vancouver and panel upgrades in Battle Ground.

EV Chargers

EV Charger Installation in Clark County, WA

50+ EV charger jobs completed in Clark County

EV chargers are steady work everywhere from Camas to Ridgefield. Newer homes with 200-amp panels take a 40- to 60-amp charger circuit without an upgrade. Older 100-amp homes and late-90s 150-amp homes need a load calculation first, and rural properties often want the charger in a detached garage or shop. Local examples: EV chargers in Camas and EV chargers in Ridgefield.

Repair & Troubleshooting

Electrical Repair & Troubleshooting in Clark County, WA

190+ troubleshooting and repair jobs completed in Clark County

Troubleshooting is one of the most common calls we take across the county. A service call is $225 for the first hour, covering diagnosis and whatever repair fits inside it, and our shop on NE 121st Ave in Vancouver puts most of the county within a reasonable drive. Emergencies (a burning smell, a hot outlet, a breaker that won't hold) get a same-day response.

Generators

Generator Installation in Clark County, WA

Outages hit Clark County unevenly. East wind out of the Gorge hammers Camas and Washougal, and rural north county properties in Yacolt, Amboy and Hockinson sit at the end of long lines that take the longest to restore. A portable generator with an inlet box and a panel interlock is the budget route. A standby generator with an automatic transfer switch carries a well pump and furnace on its own. We size, permit and wire either one so it can't backfeed the line.

"James did everything I expected and quickly with a minimum of power interruptions, which is important because my wife is on continuous supplemental oxygen and we had to use a tank for less than an hour while James completed the wiring. He hauled my 7.5K generator down to the garage and fired it up to test that all worked as needed. Thanks Newman and James."

Shops & Outbuildings

Shop & Outbuilding Wiring in Clark County, WA

65+ garage and shop jobs completed in Clark County

North and east Clark County is acreage, and acreage means shops, pole barns and detached garages that each need a properly sized feeder and sub panel. We size the feeder for what the building will become and bury it once. See how that plays out for shop and barn wiring in Battle Ground.

Heat Pumps & HVAC

Heat Pump & HVAC Wiring in Clark County, WA

110+ heat pump and HVAC jobs completed in Clark County

HVAC electrical is one of the largest categories of work we do in Clark County. Heat pumps, mini splits and AC changeouts each need a 240-volt circuit sized to the nameplate and a disconnect within sight of the outdoor unit. We're the electrical side for HVAC installers, so the system gets wired and inspected on their timeline.

Panel Swap and Heat Pump Hookup for an A/C Replacement in Vancouver, WA

"I have to shout out Ryan for going out of his way to come save us tonight. After having an HVAC tech out two days in a row, I was really hoping to have AC restored in my home. What we thought was an HVAC issue turned out to be a breaker issue and we thought we were going to be sweating through the night once again. Newman Electric was the first place I called and I’m super glad I did. Ryan was probably on his way home for the day but diverted over to our house to help us out. He charged a fair rate for emergency service and was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Best part is.. I might actually sleep through the night tonight now that my house is finally cooling down. We’ll be hiring Newman Electric again in the future, as it sounds like we’re due for a panel swap and their pricing is good. As a dispatcher for a local plumbing company, I know good service when I see it. Thanks again Ryan for helping us out tonight! We really owe you one. 10/10 will recommend to friends and family."
